I want Kristen Bell. I want Anonymous Losers to stop stalking me. I'll settle for Kristen Bell, the stalkers never stop anyway!

When I was a kid my dad and I used to rent this game from the local Blockbuster almost every week. It was fun to be at my mom's house for a week and then rent the game again and see that someone else had played my game.

I love this game, but it's not perfect. The score isn't 100 because of a few bugs and changes that made the US version "easier" than the Japanese game. Abilities were taken away from characters to make the game simpler and references to religion were downplayed.

"Prayers" became "Wishes" and "Holy" became "White" to satisfy Nintendo of America's rather cumbersome censorship policy at the time.

But that being said, the game is fun. It's very much a JRPG with a mostly linear plot. There are maybe three or four major sidequests you can go on (that usually are necessary to win the game without too much trouble)... and then there are a couple of areas with extra treasure that aren't part of the plot.

It wasn't until Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger that Nintendo had the plot become less linear with switching party members out.

In the original FFII/FFIV SNES/Super Famicom game, there was no optional party, with every member change being plot-driven.

The GBA version added bonus content and the ability to switch between party members near the end of the game, but the DS version of the game removed that and added a "New Game+" feature with augments.

Overall this game stands up well and I'd recommend the Steam/PC version over most. It's the same game as the Android version which is based on the DS version of the game.
